On Thursday 16th November the whole school took part in a Parliament afternoon. This started with an assembly about fairness and how in a democracy everybody has a voice. In classes, children learnt about suffragettes and how they had to fight to get the vote for women. They warmed up their voices with tongue twisters and then debated possible new laws with their feet. They looked at the buildings that make up our Houses of Parliament and completed some beautiful artwork. They looked at portraits of famous Members of Parliament and created their own fabulous portraits.

School Parliament is becoming well established and already has exciting changes planned for the coming year.

Could any of these portraits be our politicians of the future?
