Rugby
We have once more teamed up with the Easington School Sports Partnership, this time bringing Thursday-night Tag Rugby instruction to 15 of our pupils in KS2. The series of lessons were a success, though sadly shortened by the poor weather.
Badminton
Ms Finnigan is holding a Badminton club on Wednesdays for Yr 5 & 6 children, assisted by Mr Osmond. Many of the children had never played before, but already they’re making some great progress! On the 7th of March there was a tournament; the children could bring along a parent or play with a teacher! After some fierce competition Wesley Armstrong and his partner came out victorious! In the last week of term there will be a kids’ competition; we eagerly await to see who will be crowned champion!
Dance and Fitness
On Tuesdays and Thursday nights Miss McCabe has begun leading gruelling sessions of dance and aerobics with children from across KS2. The only thing louder than the music pumping are the sounds of exhausted children!
Earlier in the Year…
Fencing
We ran a fencing club after school during the half term before Christmas through our partnership with the Easington School Sports Partnership. Chris Morton from Durham Phoenix Fencing put eleven children through their paces; in their mid-way session the children were preparing for their last lesson where they had the full ‘electric’ apparatus, which kept score!
Coming up later!
Cricket
Easington Sports Partnership will be bringing cricket to our school in the second part of the summer term. Letters will be going out shortly for this popular club.
